BUILDING one MINNESOTA

Picture
Affordable and accessible medical care is one of my primary goals.  The democratic congress has brought down the price of prescription drugs. We can build on that and provide adequate medical and dental care to Minnesota children.   We have to follow the lead of the federal government by making prescription drugs affordable.  Encourage our young people to pursue medical careers with no interest loans. These steps will allow them to live, work and raise a family here in SD 16.

Raised Along Side Yours

I’m Fernando Alvarado and I’m running for Minnesota State Senate.

I’ve lived in Willmar for 36 years and raised my family alongside yours.

Urgent needs for children need to be met in the next legislative session.

The future starts with childcare that is affordable and accessible.

The Future is built with great schools that prepare our kids to be leaders.

And our future, our children, will thrive when there is mental, social and counseling support for students.

Yourvote matters November 8th.

Minnesota is better, working together,

I’m Fernando Alvarado and I approve this message.

Future in Our hANDS

I'm Fernando Alvarado and I'm running for Minnesota State Senate.

Rural Minnesota's future is in our hands.

I will fight for Freedom of choice on health care and affordable and accessible day care.

We need infrastructure improvements including roads, bridges and broadband.

And we need more mental, social and counseling support for our students.

My goal is to inspire cooperation and collaboration.

Because Minnesota is better, working together, I'm Fernando Alvarado, and I approve this message.

GOVERNMENT IN ITS PLACE

I'm Fernando Alvarado and I'm running for Minnesota State Senate.

Government shouldn't be involved in our private lives. It should, however, be more concerned with
infrastructure and social improvement. Improve our roads, and bridges to keep goods moving. Improve
our schools so our children can be leaders in their community. And improve our healthcare system to
make it affordable and accessible. Let's move forward together and put our government back in its place.

Minnesota is better working together. I"m Fernando Alvarado and I approve this message

Education

I see a clear and present danger in not educating our children well.  Our party reflects the history of  cooperation and support for our educators on  a daily basis.   We have and will continue to practice those activities that promote the best in a public education for our young people by hiring and encouraging diversity in our educators,  providing services for mental and social health, career counselors and recognizing the importance of our paraprofessionals. By cultivating and nurturing our children we are preparing them to think critically and to be ready to handle the challenges of the world markets.

Infrastucture

The  failure of the 2022 bonding bill was a disaster caused by the Republican Senate walking away from the deal.  We cannot let money be left on the table as was recently done.  Our roads and bridges need to be addressed on an annual basis to make sure that they are safe for Minnesota agriculture and commercial products to the world market.  Infrastructure work creates good jobs and careers and filters money through the community making them more prosperous.   Properly funding these projects now are only going to help our children and grandchildren in the future.

agriculture

I believe that our Minnesota roots can be found going through our Minnesota farm families.  Farm life has taught generations of families the importance of hard work, ingenuity, fortitude and to keep calm and carry on because you never know what Mother Nature is going to deal to you.  Today more than ever we have to continue to support our family farmers as we face climate change together and learn together the good agricultural practices.  We all want to make sure that we  maintain a legacy for our children and one the best way to do that is by tax relief supporting and working with our family farmers to promote the best practices, producing the best crop and ensuring their success for generations to come.  We do that through education, compensation for buffer strips or mandated use of their land and learning together of technologies that produce more product at less cost by working with local partners such as the University of Minnesota Extension.

welcoming Diversity

Greater Minnesota is better because of our diversity and better because we are working together.
